
► OUR NEW BORON RESEARCH LABORATORY OPENS
(Jan 2012) Boron Specialties occupies a dedicated 625 m2 building
near Pittsburgh, PA. It houses bulk refrigerated chemical storage,
laboratory space, offices, and sufficient room and industrial config-
uration for pilot scale equipment in the 200L range planned for 2013.
The laboratory has just been completed with capabilities for
customer R&D projects, product synthesis, process and application
development, and small packaging of sensitive materials. We have
installed a 500 MHz NMR spectrometer as the core analytical capability.
Our lab also features a large walk-in hood with glassware to 50L scale
for process development.

(Jan 2012) We look forward to meeting with business and technology partners with interest in our capabilities for production and process development of ammonia borane (hydrogen storage) and advanced battery electolytes based on polyhedral boranes and carboranes.

technology, we sponsor, exhibit at, or attend scientific forums, including sponsorship or exhibiting at
national and international conferences. Held this year in Canada, IME Boron was attended by the
world’s most respected & innovative boron scientists.
► BETH BOSLEY ADVISES EPA ON REFORM OF THE TOXIC SUBSTANCES CONTROL ACT
(Aug 2011) Representing our trade organization, the Society of Chemical Manufacturers and Affiliates (SOCMA), our founder offered expert advice on TSCAprioritization in a public forum. Beth has also testified before the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives on TSCA, echoing SOCMA’s position in support of practical reform that protects health and the environment while maintaining the strength of an American industry that drives innovation, manufacturing, and exports.
